Jamey and his band’s performance was excellent. The venue was lacking and a bit of a disappointment, which is sad because it has a ton of potential due to the location right on the Detroit River.
I had been waiting for about 5 years to go to a Jamey Johnson concert after the one I had planned to attend was cancelled due to COVID. It was worth the wait. Jamey and his band are a really talented group of musicians. They all played their instruments well and most played multiple instruments throughout the show. The concert was entertaining and had some moving content specifically for the Detroit crowd. In addition to Jamey playing his original songs, one of the highlights for me was Jamey and the band playing Seger, “Turn the Page”. This was easily one of the best concerts I’ve seen in my life and will be looking for another Jamey Johnson show next time he is in town.
The Jamie Johnson concert was absolutely amazing. He sounded great just as expected!! This has been our sixth time seeing him and he gets better every time. Let's talk about the venue. The venue was very cool, nice and big.The seats were very comfortable as well, i give everything a 10 out of 10
Kem show was 🔥 I had a Beautiful time last night. All the shows was pneumonia. Loose Ends throw down, S.O.S Band really did the thang. And Kem was beyond words. He was showing out. Dancing and having a good time on stage. Amazing. I loved 🥰 it hands up 🙌
Great show. Unfortunately only KC and Dalvin performed but they honestly did a phenomenal job. This was my first time in life seeing them and I was pleased. I’m not a fan of the venue at all but the performance was cool. The areatha Franklin amphitheater/ Chene park needs mad updates.
Absolutely amazing as always! He loves us just as much as we love him!!! I see him every year whenever he comes and it's gets better every time!!
I found Kevin Ross to be very very entertaining, very pression above with the audience. It was the best show I saw this summer., come to Buffalo, New York, Kevin, please!
The performances were awesome but crowd control is sorely lacking. We had seats in the amphitheater front row 2nd tier and the walkways in front of us were used for people to hang out and watch the show thus making it impossible for us to see unless we wanted to stand up! people leaning back on our feet as we were trying to enjoy what we could hear because we certainly couldn't see it. Ushers were everywhere but no help whatsoever. 😕 disappointed in my evening and we bought these tickets months ago! People who had lawn seats were actually standing in front of our section with the chairs on their arms or they tried to lay them where we were seated. It wasn't pleasant at all, but the performances were on point! Would see it again somewhere else....
Technical issues caused the show to start over an hour late. This was my first time seeing Tamia live and she did not disappoint. Tamia has such a beautiful voice. After Tamia's performance, there was a presentation on homelessness in Detroit. During this presentation, technical issues happened again no sound from the microphone during the last presenter. We again waited over an hour for the technical issues to be handled. My first time seeing Maxwell perform live and what a great show. Both were great in engaging the audience. Great performance by both artists. Too long of a wait to repair technical issues.
I’ve been a big fan of the SOS Band, especially the lead singer Mary Davis. I understand that she has had some health challenges lately but I was hoping that she had recovered and would sing last night unfortunately she did not and was sorely missed. The band itself was great as usual but was extremely loud. Not certain if they were attempting to cover up the vocals of Mary’s replacements but that’s exactly what happened. Don’t know if they could sing or not, couldn’t hear them. Disappointed!
This was a fantastic concert! More than I was expecting, and I was expecting alot. The visuals were very entertaining and added the awesome music. And the Aretha Franklin Amphitheater - what a wonderful venue.
There was a lot of confusion on the time and if Philip Philips was going to be playing at this venue. When he did play, his performance did not disappoint. I love his interaction with the fan and personal touches. The mix of new songs with favorites we know was great!!!
Sound quality was horrible for big mountain, maxi priest and the wailers. Maxi Priest did not have enough time on stage. Overall enjoyed the show. Theater was nice . Perfect evening by the water.
I enjoyed the concert but was expecting him to perform more of his traditional jazz hits versus the latest CD, Get Away, which I purchased after its release and found it less musically driven as his other CD, Heart to Heart and the 2020 CD, Highest, I believe. I like him at smaller venues when he can express himself through music. His rendition of Jimmi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, and George Benson at this concert was awesome!!!! It really conveyed his musical diversity!!!
Great set opening for Stephen Marley! I have seen them the last 3 or 4 times they hit Detroit, but they always seem to come in the cold months. Loved seeing them outdoors with the river and Canada as a backdrop. More Summer Amphitheater shows please!
This is my first time seeing Shorty, but it will not be the last. Tremendous show across the board. I was a fan of Tank and the Bangas before this, but they are even better live.
The venue was as great as the show warm summer night on the Detroit river, with music, awesome.
Fantastic show with Rick Brawn ... They played tunes together and solo.
Great covers of Grazin' in the Grass, Summer Madness, and Europa (as if Gato was doing it!!! Superb !!!)
Only negative for those of up us up front center ... You would think their production sound team would know to put in moniter speakers in front so we can hear!!
This was a very Great Show ! One of the Best shows @ the Aretha Franklin so far ! Larry Braggs is a first class Singer . The whole band was Great !!!
Beautiful show. Opening acts were entertaining, venue was gorgeous, Jhene killed it! Oh and Big Sean made an appearance near the end of the show I was totally surprised and over the top excited.
