Glimpse of by gone days when entertainers delivered the goods. Made me wonder why Dale didn’t make it big like say—Merle haggard, Marty Stewart, or Steve Earle. I think he stayed in Austin too long and didn’t jump to Nashville maybe? Searched in four used record stores for an album to get signed and found none. He’ll probably be discovered after he’s gone-like many great artists.
Best show ive ever been to!! BBB had some technical difficulties in the beginning but once they got that under control they were super fun, sleazy ez made the whole show feel like a bunch of friends just hanging out and it was dope as f**k! The vibe really changed once shno Xavier came on it felt like we could start a moshpit even though there was only like 20 people there and really set us up great for damag3's set, figgy baby was a lot more chill than the first 3 sets and was a much needed breather in between shno Xavier and damag3 im not normally big into slower music like theirs but between their showmanship and the way every song felt like it was crafted with love it was amazing, last but certainly not least DAMAG3's set was hands down the most fun ive ever had at a concert, the new album is some of the best work ive ever seen from her between the bars, the beats and the atmosphere she brought to the show ive never seen another artist pour their whole heart out on stage like she did, my favorite memory was being front row and almost losing the hat I had just bought while jumping and singing along to BOOM! I loved the way her and shno Xavier covered noir Benny's verse together, I also wanna say K. Presto is so f*****g underrated!!! She was by far the funniest person on stage and her merch is amazing! My favorite was definitely the hats that say "i wanna be a frog" but all that being said i hope yall had as much fun as I did stay safe stay happy and most importantly put a landlord in a landfill! Hope to see you back in ABQ soon!
Brilliant show. Was a bit disappointed that the ticket said the doors opened at 7:00 when they must have opened earlier. I walked in and the first band (a local called Centennial) was already 3/4 through their set. Really wanted to check them out live. Best band was by far Yosemite in Black though, who played second. Really enjoyed the music, vocalist stage presence, and their distinct style of “hippie h******e”. Their merch SUCKED though :(((. I really would have bought a shirt or two for them. Crown Magnetar killed it, too. Lots of hyping up the crowd and circle moshing. Traitors did well, new album rips. Played a good mix of old and new. Great show, would recommend.
F*****g awesome show! Second time seeing them in this teeny tiny venue and it was amazing - just like last time. Always grateful when bands like this come to Albuquerque. We don’t always get the best shows, so when we can catch one like THIS, we take it….even on a Monday night 😂
I’ve been a fan of the Mystery Skulls for 10 years now. It was a dream to see them live. Launchpad is a great smaller venue, this was my second show there. It was so much fun, it was an absolute blast. The music sounds even better in person! Forever x
In the end I had a ton of fun, and the crowds energy was amazing, it felt like being at a real concert! But my problem lies with the Karaoke part of it. The only “first come first serve” part is choosing the song itself, getting to play is left to a lottery system. So me and my party of 6 all showed up before doors opened, and after practicing all week and being among the first to sign up, only 2 of us got to perform, which hurt even more when taking into account that we all payed for tickets. In the end we all had fun, but with 4/6 of us being significantly less so
The man is a legend and a true virtuoso. The show was great, the musicianship, the vibe, the sound. Marty and the band played for 2 hours and he looked at this fretboard while playing for about a minute. A must see for any guitar player. My wife enjoyed the show as well and she is not a guitar player, neither did she knew about him
Great show, they cut his set short due to technical difficulties but he was a great show. He was cool enough to stay at the merch stand afterwards to talk, take pics, sign, etc. Took my wife and she was excited to see him. Super cool guy and very respectful
I had the experience of a lifetime seeing @wearervls tonight!
I got to sing Akaline with @kaliewolfe , I got to meet her at the merch table AND have her sign my CD, THEN I got to meet Josh, have him sign the same CD with his LEGIT signature, AND get a stick and a picture!!! And to add more of a high to a perfect night… get a BAND pic with both Kalie and Josh and talk to them about how much RIVALS means to me…
Awesome show with lots of energy from the band. Tania, Anthony and Mike were great and played a lot of their catalog, even a new song Without you from the upcoming album and as an encore; did a cover of Siouxsie's Spellbound. Launchpad is a great little venue for a up and coming bands.
Gozu trekked across the country from Massachusetts to play 5 songs at the Launchpad in ABQ, and on a Monday no less! And they did it for all 15 of us that showed up to support them.
But this didn't slow them down even a little. They took the stage by storm, with the drummer raining down upon us all like the God of Thunder, dropping beats that hit us like hailstones with the weight of kettle bells.
He hammered away directly behind the bass player, who stood front and center, hailing from the farthest corner of the map. He is the bearded berserker of Maine and does not suffer fools who idly consider the heavy strings of carnage. He plucked them with vengeance, just as he did the chords that cracked skulls, from bar to bar.
To one side, the lead vocals and second guitar came out swinging with both fists, forging an iron-clad, double-edged sword of rhythm and melody that could take your head off like a well-swung battle axe.
A constant head-bobbing lead guitar on the other side, in the style of Malcolm Young of AC/DC fame, was giving no quarter, ripping lick after shredding lick, laying waste to all feeble conceptions of progressive doom metal anyone may have previously held.
Gozu is not for the faint of heart and redefines the genre of heavy metal to the point that it may require a new term to adequately describe it. Original, stout, and seriously compelling. I can't get enough of their insightful interpretations of this sound and I am deeply grateful that they chose to venture far and wide to share their music with me, here in the high desert.
Violet Rising were surprisingly good. That drummer threw everything at the kit!
Living Colour (as usual) Rocked the F'ing house!
Biscuit was incredible! Hopefully Will will be able to step back in and rock the house. Vernon, Corey & Doug were great as usual.
I was standing right by Vernon's Guitar Tech table. 4 feet away from some of the coolest guitars.
I Absolutely Loved the show!
This was such a good show, all of the bands were fantastic and the crowd was so nice and welcoming. Origami Angel was solid sound wise and the lights were very timed very well with the music, the only the I would change is to make the merch tables more clear on whose merch is whose, other than that it was amazing! I hope they come by again they are my favorite band of all time! 10/10 would reccomend!
Great performances from all the bands. There was a pretty bad misshap in the middle of the concert. A girl was injured during the first mosh pit of the night and had to be taken to the hospital. Big ups to Rain City Drive for being conscientious and taking control of the situation to make sure she got the help she needed. They also managed to get the set back on track with some slower songs to help everyone mellow out a little. Great job guys!
Been Hooked since they signed with Strange and saw them for the 1st time for the All 6's & 7's tour all this time still killing it! Awesome show, stellar lineup and chill vibes as always they never disappoint will look forward the next time they come through.✌️
Diamante and the entire band have an incredible stage presence and charisma. The show was great, and they are genuinely nice people. I'm very glad to have had the opportunity to see them in a small venue like the Launchpad before they blow up into a something much larger.
My first ever Icon For Hire show! I was pretty close up and Shawn was trying to give me his guitar pick but I didn't know what was happening and then he just dropped it, I still got it anyway though! It was a lot of fun, I'm so happy that I went! 😁 Thanks for coming down to Albuquerque, guys! 💓
