In 2026 KEEP IT LOW continues to carry the torch as Munich’s heaviest festival with a perfect mix of heavy music and punk – staying true to the festival’s ideals – as it always has! On October 9th and 10th Backstage Munich is going to be packed to the brim with music fans from all over Europe and the coolest bands the heavy music spectrum has to offer like SLOMOSA, 1000MODS, HÄLLAS, BELZEBONG, THE DEVIL AND THE ALMIGHTY BLUES, MONDO DRAG, YAWNING MAN, CAUSA SUI, THRONEHAMMER, EARTH TONGUE and many more! Of course the legendary DOOM FRÜHSCHOPPEN will be back, starting early into the festival Saturday with a KEEP IT LOW tradition. Don’t sleep on it, weekend passes are selling fast!

KEEP IT LOW festival is a long standing pillar of heavy music in Southern Germany – initiated by Sound of Liberation and Feierwerk e.V. in 2013. Since the first edition the 2-day festival grew out of scale from a scene insider got-to-be at Feierwerk to a full-blown underground gathering of heavy music fans from all over Europe at the larger venue Backstage in Munich from the 10th festival anniversary in 2023 on. Till today the Feierwerk crew is still en integrate part of the KEEP IT LOW festival crew even after moving to Backstage.
Over the years Keep It Low was sold-out multiple times, not only due to always hosting the crème de la crème from the entire heavy music spectrum on stage like FU MANCHU, SAINT VITUS, MY SLEEPING KARMA, COLOUR HAZE, MANTAR, ORANGE GOBLIN, ELDER, BLUES PILLS, just to name a few, but also by staying true to it’s original ideal of melting together stoner and desert rock music with punk and the scenes overlapping love for fuzzy guitar music, skateboarding and ice-cold beer! Besides the biggest names out of the heaviest genres from stoner, doom, sludge, desert rock, heavy blues, psychedelic, hard rock and punk to metal, the KEEP IT LOW festival continues to deliver a carefully curated lineup each year, that highlights a mix of heavy music legends, new scene favorites, long running evergreens, local matadors as well as the hottest new bands around and functions as an early stepping stone to future scene greats like SLOMOSA, 1000MODS and many more. The Saturdays at KEEP IT LOW always start early with the iconic “doom Frühschoppen“ – with the heaviest DJ sets around and ice-cold beer in our beer garden – this is KEEP IT LOW tradition and a surrealistic take at Bavarian culture!
