Drahthaus

How can you possibly combine a studio production with a live-music show? The answer is quite simple: Bring the studio on stage! Four laptops, equipped with ‘Ableton Live’, fifteen various instruments and of course around two hundred meters of tangled cables are the tools of Simon, Valentin, Ludwig and Hans, who perform together as Drahthaus since 2015 and thus bring new vibes on the festival stages and clubs of Austria and South Tyrol. Each single tone is played at least once live on stage and together with the variety of instruments that are looped and enriched with effects, the typical sound of Drahthaus arises: subtle-complex but still intuitive. It has all started as a techno project, but combines by now many influences and vibes from different genres, such as jazz, ambient trance or dub. Electronics and acoustics go naturally hand in hand - digital and analog are no longer opposites, but partners. Drahthaus sees itself not only as a music project, but as something bigger - a complete artwork. Therefore, a collective of designers, sound technicians and visual artists behind Drahthaus strengthen them to overcome barriers and find new rooms for exceptional artistic experiments.
