Suffocate With Your Fame

The band was established in the midst of the summer holidays of 2009 as a merger of two other bands from Prague, False Hope and Back to Grape, under the name Suffocate With Your Vomitus. Six weeks later, the band had its first compositions ready and proceeded to first live shows. Since May 2010, SWYF plays in a six-member lineup, thus strengthening their music as well as stage presentations. In August 2010, the debut entitled EP 2010 was released. Encouraged by a number of live shows , SWYF entered the second installment of MetalGate Massacre metal bands contest, advancing to the final round and winning the contest in May 2011. The first prize was an album deal under MetalGate Records, which the band took, making The New World Order a reality. Parallel to recording the album, the band changed its name to Suffocate With Your Fame (SWYF). Later in the summer of 2012 guitarist Matous quit the band and after a few shows as a five piece the band decided to keep the three guitars line up going and after a short period of time David Sohajek joined the crew. In 2013 SWYF released the single Dimension Change (produced and recorded by Tomas Raclavsky) followed later on by a music video. In the fall of 2013 SWYF started to work on new material with the intention of releasing a new record in the first half of 2014. The new album is called Item(s), was recorded in the brand new Babylon Studios by Tomas Raclavsky and finally released on 14th June 2014.
