John Davis, aka jdsoundbite, is a founding member of The Folk Implosion and a solo recording artist who sometimes plays with a backing band called The Cicadas.

"The eccentric bedroom genius who wandered in from the Shire.” – Spin
"One of the most original songwriters of his generation...He seized upon intimacy as his medium, breaking down a barrier between himself and his tape recorder that has really never been matched." - Adam Green of Moldy Peaches
