Mortajas

Band formed in 2020, in the city of Villa Alemana, with the purpose of doing Doom Metal in spanish.
Currently lineup includes members of prominent chilean doom metal bands like "King Heavy", "Mourners Lament" and "Mar de Grises".
Debut album was released in January 2021 by the Peruvian label "Gate of Horror", and later re issued for Europe by "Rafchild Records" (GER).
In 2022 they release a split with the classic Doomsters of Anguish (Sweden) released by the Rumanian label "Sun & Moon Records".
Upcoming album "Mortajas II" will be released by "Sun and Moon Records" on October 18th 2023, album contains five tracks and about 45 minutes of doom metal, for the upcoming album Mortajas had a couple of guest musicians. One of them was Juan Escobar from Wooden Veins and ex Mar de Grises, who was in charge of the keyboards on the last track of the album "He Perdonado" and the second guest musician is an active member of the most iconic Chilean band that has just turned 60 years of career, Carlos Cabezas from the band "Los Jaivas" who was in charge of the arrangements for track 3 "Bajo un Nuevo Sol" brilliantly performing the quena, zampoña, trompe, trutruca, charango, percussions and voices.
For the promotion of their new release on 2023, Mortajas is working on their first Eurotour on November, scheduled on two of the most important Doom metal festivals in Europe like "Dutch Doom Days" and "Doom Over Viena" and some others exclusive gigs in Madrid, Brugge, Lima (PE), Santiago and some others chilean cities.
