EXPCTR

EXPCTR (Expector) is an independent singer-songwriter and producer from Fukuoka, Japan, active since 2018. Working entirely on his own terms, he handles every aspect of his output — track-making, vocals, artwork, and music videos — without outside involvement.
His sound is rooted in electronica, drawing from bedroom pop and indie pop while resisting straightforward genre classification. At the core of his practice is an obsession with texture — developing a personal sonic language through the manipulation of recorded instruments, electro-acoustic layering, and production methods that prioritize originality over replication.
Alongside his own releases, EXPCTR has worked as a producer and remixer for a number of artists — producing "Metamorphose Paramazino" for eill's debut EP MAKUAKE, remixing "Spider Dancing" for Maika Loubté's Lucid Dreaming: The Remixes, and producing "Girl" for singer-songwriter vela.
His debut full-length album, BOY FABRICS, is out June 24, 2026.
