Nizar Elkhater

Pianist and composer Nizar Elkhater invites the audience on a musical journey that begins with the classical piano repertoire, continues through operatic transcriptions, and gradually unfolds into a selection of his own original works, written over different stages of his artistic career. Rather than presenting separate styles, the recital traces the path of a composer searching for new musical possibilities. Each work reflects a different chapter, shaped by memories, travels, encounters, and imagination. Behind many of these pieces are personal stories. Mundi Rain was inspired by a rainy evening in Budapest and the simple realization that, wherever we are, the rain speaks the same language. Elkhater's reimagining of Mozart's Turkish March asks how the piece might have sounded had Mozart himself travelled through the Ottoman world. In other moments, the piano leaves behind its familiar voice and begins to imitate the expressive sound of the oud, inviting listeners to hear the instrument from a completely new perspective. More than a piano recital, this is an invitation to step inside the creative process itself, where stories become melodies, imagination becomes music, and every work opens the door to a new world.
