Stepforward

Formed in Jakarta on 25 November 1995, Stepforward emerged as one of the formative voices of Indonesia's hardcore scene. Their music joins direct hardcore punk energy with metallic weight, while their songs carry themes of conviction, resistance, loss, and the will to keep moving.

After periods of change and hiatus, Stepforward returned with renewed purpose. Vocalist and founding member Jennifer Jill van Diest is joined by drummer Fajar Arifan, bassist Junas Miradiarsyah, and guitarist Roma Sophiaan.

Released on 30 August 2026, the five-song EP Tak Pernah Mati celebrates three decades of the band without becoming an exercise in nostalgia. Three new songs were developed with the late Ricky Siahaan, while two songs from Stories of Undying Hope were rebuilt for the present lineup. It is both a continuation and a tribute to the band's enduring creative force.
