Dave Laurence

Dave Laurence has been entertaining audiences since 1977, both as a solo artist and as a member of various bands. His “Fun Acoustic Music” combines elements of rock, pop, jazz, country, folk, and the dry humor borne of his New England roots. Dave’s energetic stage presence and convincing delivery resonate across generations and among all genres of music lovers.

Dave started as a bassist for several bands near his hometown of Portland, Maine from 1977 through the mid-1980s. He began performing solo in 1987, with stops in Boston and Providence before migrating south to Oklahoma City in 1995. He then played throughout Oklahoma and the Midwest before pausing in 2003. Dave returned to the stage in 2012 and has not looked back, releasing four albums and performing from Mexico to Maine.

Dave retired from his government job in 2022 to pursue music full time. After surviving a near-fatal accident in 2025, he has decided to spend the remainder of his career focusing on his original music, and helping to keep the art of storytelling through song alive.
