Drei Musiker. Zwei Kontinente. Ein Neuanfang. Willkommen bei der nächsten
Evolutionsstufe von GODZILLA IN THE KITCHEN.
Schüsse – AK-47 Dauerfeuer. Es ist 5 Uhr nachts in einer Favela in Rio de Janeiro. Ob das
der Auslöser war oder nur der Tropfen, der das Fass zum Überlaufen gebracht hat –
Thiago Presto´s Koffer sind gepackt: er wandert 2019 nach Leipzig aus. Fünf Jahre
später. Zwei zielstrebige Musiker, Simon UIm und Eric Patzschke, stehen vor dem Aus
ihrer Band Godzilla In The Kitchen. Ihr Drummer ist weg und wie man das einst
kongeniale Trio im Jahr 2024 wieder vervollständigen will: Ein großes Rätsel. Aber wie
schon immer in der Geschichte dieser Band, die 2022 ihren ersten Höhepunkt mit der
Teilnahme am Wacken Open Air hatte, war Aufgeben keine Option. Der Reiz an den
großen Bühnen und dem tosenden Applaus war zu groß. Eine Verkettung von etlichen
Zufällen später sitzt Thiago Presto hinter den Drums der Band. Er bringt zum progressiven
und psychedelischen Groove-Rock eine geballte Ladung Power und Maracatu! Alles
ändert sich – instrumental war einmal – es ist Zeit etwas zu sagen, die Dinge
anzusprechen, die Emotionen zu kanalisieren – Simon Ulm übernimmt den Gesang. Was
einst eine instrumentale Rockband war, ist nun eine geballte Maschine Alternative-
Metal, mit zeitgemäßen Texten. Das Weltgeschehen wird subtil kommentiert und das
Ganze in die bereits mit den Vorgänger Alben gewohnte bildliche Umgebung gepackt:

Termination Sequence wird in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Label Tonzonen Records und
im Vertrieb mit Cargo Records Germany am 23.10.2026 veröffentlicht.

Godzilla In The Kitchen is a Leipzig-based alternative metal band blending heavy riffs with roots in stoner, progressive, and psychedelic rock.
All band members were early infected by the work of great alternative musicians such as Tool, Faith No More, Helmet or Kyuss to name a few. In 2011 they started their first rehearsals, trying to combine all the different musical aspects tabled by every single one of them to create a unique mixture of melodical recognizability and rhythmic complexity. After three years of on-stage experience and practice these three guys decided to finally get their work pressed on a more tangible and of course a more sellable format.
So they started recording sessions in April 2014 and – after more than one year of recording, mixing and mastering a total of 10 songs with around 60 mins playing time – they were very proud to release their self-titled instrumental debut album in May 2015. After a long writing session from 2016 to 2018 they went their own separate ways for almost 2 years. Finally and luckily they took decision to reunite in 2021 to get on stage again.
On the 2nd of April 2021 they released their first music video for Dr. Moth, a song from their first album.
The album was remastered and reissued on this date on a double vinyl. In March 2021 they started the recordings of their second album. On October 28, 2022, their second album EXODUS was released via Argonauta Records. They released two singles: WILL BE TAKEN AWAY & EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN GIVEN. The album was presented to a larger audience as part of an extensive tour. They released their first Live Album on February 10th 2023. After gaining attention with their instrumental sound and an appearance at Wacken Open Air in 2022, the band entered a new chapter in 2024 when Brazilian drummer Thiago Presto joined the lineup alongside bassist Simon Ulm and guitarist Eric Patzschke. Presto’s explosive playing style and rhythmic influences pushed the band toward a heavier and more dynamic sound.
With Simon Ulm stepping up to vocals, Godzilla In The Kitchen evolved from an instrumental project into a powerful alternative-metal act driven by groove, intensity, and atmospheric depth.
2026 marks a prolific new phase for the band. A wave of new music will be released this year on their new label, Tonzonen Records.
