Artist bio
Jonathan Stephen Simons (JSS) is a Cape Town-based indie-folk trio fronted by singer, songwriter and guitarist, Jonathan Simons. Completing the band’s rhythm section is Ray Adam Morgan on drums and percussion and Stephen de Souza on bass. Ray and Stephen also add their chilling harmonies to the mix on most songs.
The three friends have been playing and writing together for over a decade. Their
close bond and deep understanding of each others’ unique styles is clearly reflected
in the quality and creativity of the music they make together.
Drawing inspiration from the styles of artists like Bon Iver, Ben Howard and Damien
Rice, Jonathan's writing is deeply raw and emotional, each song vastly different to
the last.
