Obscurity - Melodic Death / Viking Metal band with Black Metal influences from Velbert

Hammer-forged from the hardest steel of the Bergisches Land, cast in fire, formed on the anvil of metal and hardened by the waters of the Wupper. A battle axe, so deadly and sharp, made from the same material as the world-renowned blades of Solingen... This is howyou could describe the birth of Obscurity in early 1997 in Velbert (Bergisches Land).

Obscurity are among the pioneers of the German Death/Viking Metal scene and have unleashed ten studio albums upon the metal world to date. With their current album “Ascheregen”, the band entered the German Album Charts at #23 and the German Metal Charts at #7. Live, the lions from Bergisches Land are also a force to be reckoned with, as they have successfully proven at countless festivals and club shows, including appearances at Summer Breeze Open Air, Rock Harz Open Air, Party.San Metal Open Air, Ragnarök Festival, Turock Open Air, Dark Troll Festival, Wolfszeit, Wolfsfest, Wodanaz Metalfest and many more. Beyond that, they have successfully toured large parts of Europe as well as non-European countries, including appearances on the Heidenfest and Paganfest tours alongside three additional European tours.
