Bantar Biografie
BANTAR (NL) stands for instrumental post-rock. Loud, gentle, cinematically melancholic and groove-drenched. An evolutionary step from the band members who founded Semistereo, with whom they have made multiple critically acclaimed studio albums; played at Prog Power Europe and shared the stage with bands like Vennart (formerly Oceansize) and Arcane roots.
Their debut album is called "This Heat is Exhausting" and it recorded and produced by the band members themselves at their Rhineland Road home studio. It reflects the world we live in today, with a collection of instrumental songs that carry a mix of loud, gentle, and melancholic tones. The music is influenced by bands like Mogwai, Mono, Oceansize, Russian Circles, and ISIS, and it continues the experimental approach that BANTAR's members developed during their time in Semistereo.
This album offers a journey through evocative soundscapes, all crafted with a DIY spirit.
“Like a TGV raging through your speakers.” - Progwereld.nl
“This technically and compositionally impressive performance is wrapped in an organic and open sound texture that brings out all the instruments beautifully" - Powermetal.de
“Bantar delivers a very well-crafted debut album—a vigorous and dramatic haven of instrumental post-rock, the way it should always sound.” – Musicwaves France
