nested for rest Biography
nested for rest is an alternative pop/rock project by Jay Payne from Virginia Beach, VA . The project officially started on October 12th, 2023; the same day that the first version of the band's debut EP "remember" was released online. The songs are currently solely written, performed, produced, and mixed by Jay in the studio, but he enlists the help of some of his friends to perform the songs live. The current live band is Jay on lead vocals/piano/keys, his brother Joshua “Jetho” Edwards on keys/electric guitar/backing vocals, Patrick Leahy on bass, and Alex “Bert” Bertrand on the drums.
Jay originally released a concept version of the band's first song "time" in October 2021, before nested for rest even had its name decided. Later this year, the band will release their first three official EPs: a rerecording & remaster of "remember", a second EP named "decide" featuring new fan-favorite songs “echo” and “reflection”, and a third untitled EP.
