Christian Sands, one of the young luminaries of contemporary jazz history, is peculiar and proclaims an almost singular high standard. Where does Sands hang out? In the former, equally uncharted territories of jazz development, which decidedly listens to the traditional theory of harmony as the foundation. But Sands doesn't make it easy for himself or even sit in nests he's made. With determination and with a highly developed individuality, he sets up his own creative space, where he relocates enlightened jazz classicism with fresh ambition and thirst for action. Sand's musical-cultural stance is deeply rooted in African-American jazz heritage.
