DJ Fortune Biography
Jack Edelist, who goes by "DJ Fortune," grew up in Hong Kong and now lives in Toronto, Canada. The name "Fortune" is a testament to his upbringing, where fortune is a sought-after asset in Chinese culture. Before his first semester of college, he transitioned his love for rock/jazz guitar into being a DJ – something he took with him to Boston University. After performing at frats, he took his career to the bar/club scene in the Fall of 2023. Ever since, DJ Fortune has played for crowds of 1000 in Boston clubs, and most notably, played a closing set for his idol – James Hype – at a festival in Punta Cana over the Spring of 2024.
DJ Fortune brings a unique blend of tech house, house, and open format mixing to the stage, but most would agree that his energy and stage presence are what sets his performances apart. It's only up for him, as he takes on his senior year, and begins to release tracks containing his unique sound.
