About this concert

Il compositore e pianista Alessandro Sgobbio torna alla sua vocazione originaria del pianoforte solo con Piano Music – nuova raccolta autobiografica di dediche pianistiche. Il repertorio dell’album include composizioni "classiche” tratte dai suoi recital solisti (e fino ad oggi mai registrate su disco), ma anche brani inediti scritti da Sgobbio durante i recenti tempi pandemici.Realizzato su un magnifico Pianoforte Fazioli F278, Piano Music è stato registrato, missato e masterizzato da Stefano Amerio presso gli Studi Artesuono (Cavalicco, UD). "Che esperienza unica e magnifica potersi sedere al pianoforte, chiudere gli occhi e intonare una dedica musicale per una persona, un popolo, un luogo. Ogni brano è come un breve diario di viaggio, nel quale il compositore e l’ascoltatore possono incontrarsi, meditare, coesistere e scrivere assieme una storia sempre nuova."

Alessandro Sgobbio Biography

Composer, Pianist, Producer, Alessandro Sgobbio keeps expanding his own personal vocabulary of compositions, improvisations and spiritual explorations throughout music. He has been voted one of the best new jazz talents of the year at the Italian 2023 TopJazz Polls. Sgobbio has earned Master’s Degrees at the Norwegian Academy of Music (Oslo, Norway) and the Parma Conservatory of Music (Parma, Italy), releasing 14 albums as a leader / co-leader. Performing internationally as a soloist, duo and with his bands Silent Fires and Hitra, Alessandro Sgobbio has been touring across Europe, Scandinavia, UK, China and the USA. He has received several awards, including the Umbria Jazz Contest and the Padova Carrarese Prize. His recent releases “Forests”, “Transparence” and “Piano Music” have been “album of the month” on Italian Musica Jazz Magazine, Europe Jazz Network, Jazzism and other international press outlets. His latest album “Piano Music 2” was released in September 2023.
