Lisa Crawley Biography
With a back catalogue that boasts two albums and three EPs, coupled with countless collaborations, tours, television appearances and acclaimed music-based projects, Lisa Crawley has well and truly earned her reputation as one of Australasia’s most well-respected musicians.
Her recently released EP ‘Up In The Air’ five-track EP is produced by sought-after Australian producer Ryan Ritchie(Kimbra, The Rah Project), whose work with Kiwi singer Kimbra on ‘Cameo Lover’ earned him an ARIA.
‘Up In The Air’ builds on the retro vibe of 2013’s album ‘All In My Head’, showcasing a singer-songwriter who has found her place in a dreamy, melodic pop world, with an edgy darkness.
The EP rounds off an exciting 2015 in which Crawley performed at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. She also played a string of shows in Los Angeles and won the LA-based songwriting game show Top Tune – a fun game show filmed for online where contestants (songwriters) are given a title and have 17 minutes to write a song. Judges on the show include Ray Parker Jnr and Van Dyke Parkes.
“This is the star-making record that anyone who has followed Crawley was hoping she might make. Or, in some cases, were sure that she would.”– Simon Sweetman
She is of course, no stranger to touring, having travelled the length and breadth of the country as a solo artist and in support of big names in music like Paul Weller, Jools Holland and John Mayer.
Lisa Crawley is truly a songwriter to watch. Her unique approach to writing and performing allows her to charm jazz loving audiences one minute, and command indie credibility the next; her undeniably catchy tunes are bound to stick with even the most casual of listeners.
