About this concert
Kool & the Gang return to The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park with fan-favorite hits such as "Celebration", "Cherish", "Jungle Boogie", "Summer Madness" and many more, following their sold-out 4th of July performance in 2022. Sister Sledge – making their Rady Shell at Jacobs Park debut – will get audiences on their feet with their own lineup of hit songs, and DJ Prince Hakim gets the night started in his triumphant return to our San Diego stage.

Kool & The Gang Biography
Kool & The Gang is a highly successful R&B/soul/funk/disco group. They originally formed in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1964. They went through several musical phases in their career. They started out as practitioners of R&B and funk, eventually went through a phase where they were a smooth disco ensemble, and wound up with the successful period of their career recording tunes that were a mixture of pop and R&B.
