IRON WALRUS

Carnivore, de befaamde band uit New York City die de weg vrijmaakte voor de legendarische doommetalhelden Type O Negative, liet een onvergetelijke indruk achter met hun controversiële crossover van metal en hardcore, doordrenkt met een post-Armageddon neo-barbarische soundscape. Na het tragische heengaan van Peter Steele, de charismatische frontman van Type O Negative en tevens Carnivore, herrees de band als Carnivore A.D. De band bestaat nu uit doorgewinterde veteranen van de New York City Hardcore/Metal-scene: bassist/zanger Baron Misuraca (Sheer Terror, Darkside NYC), gitarist Chuck Lenihan (Crumbsuckers) en drummer Joe Cangelosi (Kreator, Massacre, Whiplash). De band is mede-opgericht en volledig goedgekeurd door de oorspronkelijke leden van Carnivore: gitarist Marc Carnivore en drummer Louie Beateux, die beiden regelmatig met de band hebben opgetreden. IRON WALRUS: An adult Walrus can weight more than 2,000 kilograms. Many human beings must feel a similar emotional weight on their shoulders in this day and age - Solid as IRON and heavy as a WALRUS IRON WALRUS perfectly capture these feelings in tunes that are ranging somewhere in between stoner, sludge and metal with a health portion of doom and noisecore. Their three albums so far showcase their ability to provide slow-placed, catchy mid-tempo riffs, which doom appearance is supported by powerful drums and relentlessly deep vocals. This gives their songs a lot of depth as well as a crushing brutality. But IRON WALRUS don’t just roll over the listener, they also know when they press the tempo pedal down in spot-on doses, without ever losing their enormous groove. The German band from Osnabrück is a strong live force, that has crushed stages during their tours with KHEMMIS, COVEN, ROOTS (Cavalera Brothers), SODOM and CROWBAR (twice), and during their shows in support of HATEBREED, PENTAGRAM, ST.VITUS, TROUBLE, OBITUARY (and many more), as well as during their festival appearances at the „Rockavaria Festival (Munich/Olympia Stadium) , „Hammer Of Doom“, the „Desert Fest London“ or „Stoned From The Underground“ Fans and press relatives were likewise impressed and spread the word to an ever-growing fanbase. The German ROCK HARD magazine cited: „IRON WALRUS are the kings of choruses“ while DEAF FOREVER described the five-piece as „Apocalyptic border crossers between doom, sludge and metal“ No it’s time for IRON WALRUS to present their new album -„Tales Never Told“!
