Join super duo Shannen Wick and Jess Fairlie on a 1960’s to 70’s retro journey as they present the music of Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak. With her rich songwriting and powerful vocal abilities, Shannen Wick is reminiscent of the energetic queens of soul music past. Known as the leading lady and founder of Fulton Street, Shannen is a key player in the thriving Melbourne soul music scene. Soul-pop singer songwriter Jess Fairlie has long had the attention of those “in the know” in the Melbourne music scene. Since first coming to attention while still a teenager when engaged by Australia’s iconic Kate Ceberano (and later Vanessa Amorosi) as a touring vocalist, Fairlie has quietly developed her own sound, presence and perspective that draws on a wide variety of musical inspirations. In this evening’s performance, Shannen and Jess will be showcasing the full Silk Sonic album, as well as hits from Mars’ and Paak’s solo careers. Known for his stage performances and showmanship, Mars performs a wide range of musical styles, including pop, R&B, funk, soul, reggae, disco, and rock. Paak is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and drummer. In 2021, the two came together as Silk Sonic and gained instant widespread acclaim.
