Bullet For My Valentine has been a mainstay, not just in the metal community, but within British music as a whole since their inception. From experiencing early success with Fever & Scream Aim Fire to continuing to encapsulate audiences with Gravity & 2021’s self-titled album, the band has consistently gone from strength to strength, amassing over 3.5 million album sales to date whilst playing sold-out shows across the globe. It’s the band’s first album, however; 2005’s The Poison, that propelled them to unimaginable heights. That year saw the Welsh metallers graduate from supporting Funeral For A Friend on their UK run in the summer, to ending the year headlining the very same venues just months later. Dropping in October 2005, “The Poison” hit number 21 in the UK album charts, becoming a late contender in end of year polls, placing at number seven on KERRANG!’s “Albums Of The Year” list, and since achieving gold status.

This was the first concert of my life. I was a victim of a mind-control cult that forbade me from almost everything in life. After I finally managed to leave that cult, I can say I’m being born for the second time, now able to experience real life. And one of the things I had always wanted to do was go to a Bullet for My Valentine show. I went to this event solely because of Bullet, and no other band besides Bullet.
My experience was incredible. The red lighting creating the album’s atmosphere, the sound quality — everything was perfect. The drums were so perfectly balanced that they never drowned out the guitars. I’m deeply grateful to you for making this the happiest night of my life. If I could have, I would’ve jumped on stage to play Tears Don’t Fall on guitar, haha.
My only criticism is that I missed hearing more songs from the album, especially Curses, Just Another Star, and Spit You Out. But I understand there was a strict schedule to avoid delaying Limp Bizkit’s set.
