Shygirl

Shygirl is a British singer, rapper, songwriter and DJ from South London. Her music combines electronic club production with experimental pop, rap and R&B, drawing on grime, house and UK dance music.

She began releasing music in 2016 and co-founded the independent label and collective NUXXE. Her early EPs, Cruel Practice (2018) and ALIAS (2020), established her mix of direct lyrics, understated vocals and experimental production. Her debut album, Nymph (2022), explored a more melodic sound and was shortlisted for the 2023 Mercury Prize.

She followed with Club Shy (2024) and Club Shy Room 2 (2025), focusing on dancefloor music and collaborations with artists including PinkPantheress, Jorja Smith and Saweetie. Her second studio album, SWALLOW!, is scheduled for release on November 6, 2026, through Because Music.
