TESTSET (Yoshinori Sunahara × Leo Imai × Kenichi Shirane × Seiichi Nagai)

In 2021, Yoshinori Sunahara and Leo Imai, two members from Yukihiro Takahashi’s musical project METAFIVE, performed at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL with support from Kenichi Shirane (GREAT3) on drums and Seiichi Nagai (Soutaiseiriron) on guitar. Originally intended as a one-off lineup show for METAFIVE, this four-piece subsequently changed their name to TESTSET, and have released two albums and two EPs to date.
Their hybrid sound of rock songwriting over machine-driven beats is at once both stoical and energetic; clinical yet impassioned. Three years into their formation, they have played numerous large festivals in Japan including FUJI ROCK, SONICMANIA, ASAGIRI JAM, and two in China.
Their live shows add a palpable aggression and dynamism to their sleek recordings, enhanced further by LED stage props and visual projections, and are steadily garnering fans of both rock/alternative and electronic/club music alike.
