About Pinhead

Pinhead
Pinhead
Pinhead originally began as the solo project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ilja John Lappin. What started as a personal space for musical and conceptual experimentation gradually evolved into a full band following the first album and a series of successful release shows.

The debut album "Egomessiah" already established Pinhead as a project with a distinct artistic identity: dark sonic landscapes, intense dynamics and a strong conceptual approach. The music deliberately moved between raw energy, electronic textures and cinematic atmosphere.

Through the first release concerts, the project increasingly took on the shape of a band. Together with Simon Schröder, Marc Andrejkovits and Flo Fleischer, the original solo vision grew into a stable line-up that now brings the music of Pinhead to the stage.
From early on, Pinhead has been defined by a strong conceptual approach.

The band’s themes move along the intersections of identity, alienation and contemporary social developments — a reality in which systems increasingly begin to take control while the human being slowly risks disappearing within them.

Musically, the band combines elements of Industrial, Metalcore and Death Metal with unexpected melodic moments, pop-leaning post-rock hooks and cinematic tension arcs. The immediate force of modern metal collides with an introspective, almost artistic perspective. Again and again, sonic worlds emerge only to break apart moments later — a tension between brute energy and introspective art that has become a defining element of Pinhead’s aesthetic.

With "Beauty In Pain", the band continues to deepen this approach. The album merges the raw intensity of metal with an introspective exploration of alienation, technological acceleration and a world in which systems increasingly take control — while the human being slowly disappears within them.
