About this concert
Songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Iskander Moens loves to be swallowed up by a big, anonymous city. From Zelzate, he has traveled to New York, Berlin, Boston and Florence for extended periods in recent years. There he immersed himself in the local music scene, played in numerous music bars - where he impressed with his warm tenor voice - and wrote a mountain of sparkling folk-pop songs. The most beautiful songs can be found on his debut EP "Are You Lost Here?", released on [PIAS].
Iskander Moens bored to Iskander Moon, because in the meantime the singer has a band. The songs show talent: they tell a reduced story and wrap themselves in silence instead of bombast. Music like a blanket to snuggle into. As if a door opens to another universe in which the listener willingly loses himself.
With "Are You Lost Here? Iskander Moon delivers a special calling card. He is not lost at all. On the contrary, everything indicates that the path he has chosen is the right one. Where it will lead him remains an open question. But there is no doubt that the destination is worth the effort.

Iskander Moon Biography
The 22-year-old Belgian Iskander Moens already has an extensive musical journey despite his young age.
As a young kid, Iskander had the opportunity to tour across Europe with the choral ensemble Collegium Vocale (under the direction of Philippe Herreweghe). He composed polyphonic pieces for the men’s choir Dionysos Now! and was also active in various projects outside the classical world, including the tuxedorock trio HYPER! and the fusion band Shikata Ga Nai.
As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, Iskander pursued classical piano training at MUDA and completed his master’s in music production at KASK last summer. Over the past two years, he has been actively involved as a producer, session musician, and songwriter for artists such as Mooneye, The Starlings, Camille, Lea Rue, Ibe and Yves Paquet.
Simultaneously, Iskander has been quietly making strides as a solo artist under his alter- ego “Iskander Moon.” Drawn to the allure of being absorbed by a large anonymous city, he spent extended periods in places like New York, Berlin, Boston, and Florence.
During his time there, Iskander immersed himself fully in the local music scene, performing in numerous singer-songwriter cafes where he impressed the audience with his warm tenor voice. During those stays, he effortlessly composed a collection of sparkling folk-pop songs.
Iskander: “People who have seen me perform here in Belgium probably associate me musically with more complex projects, but I’ve always seen myself primarily as a songwriter and storyteller. I enjoy playing a piece like Prelude in C Minor by Bach, but at the same time, I can wholeheartedly appreciate a good Taylor Swift song.”
As Iskander Moon, he aims to deliver simple, heartfelt pop songs with compelling lyrics, sung from behind his ivory keys. Think Bon Iver, James Bay, and Tom Odell.
On September 6th, Iskander Moon released his debut single “Saturday Silence” via Play It Again Sam.
