About this concert
In the world of Indian classical music, there is no artist quite like Zakir Hussain. The GRAMMY®-winning tabla maestro is celebrated not only as an innovative drummer, but as a powerful force in expanding Indian music around the globe. He returns to NJPAC by popular demand with his Masters of Percussion program - a long-running, ever-evolving collaboration of the best drummers on the planet. They weave together their distinctive instruments, musical traditions and percussive stylings into a multicultural masterpiece. You'll marvel at the experience. "Zakir Hussain, the peerless North Indian tabla player, favors an impish strain of virtuosity. He's a fearsome technician but also a whimsical inventor, devoted to exuberant play." - The New York Times

The concert with Zakir Hussain was one of the most amazing concerts I have ever been to ever!! He is one of the most amazing musicians on the planet and he has been my teacher for fifty years now!! I have been to many, many of his concerts and they are always amazing. I just love everything he does and he gets more amazing every year. We are very lucky to have him come to The Moore Theater as often as he does. It’s always totally amazing. Thank you Moore Theater for having him play so many concerts here!!
