Jim Lauderdale is an amazing songwriter and pretty damn good singer too. His show at Funk and Waffles was fun, relaxed, poignant, and completely gratifying. He played every song you might hope to hear live. This was the first time I saw him in an indoor venue, usually catch him at various festivals. He is one performer I would definitely go out of my way to see live!

Jim Lauderdale Biography
Two-time Grammy-winning singer and master songwriter Jim Lauderdale is both a "songwriter's songwriter," who's written/co-written many modern classics for iconic artists, as well as an intuitive sideman, who's enhanced the music of a bevy of esteemed musicians. As a solo artist, since 1986 up until now, he's created a bodywork spanning 37 albums of imaginative roots music, encompassing all that is today’s musical landscape. His combination of Country, Bluegrass, Soul, R&B and Rock has helped to pave the way for the current Americana movement.
