Moonlust

From members of Great Highway comes Moonlust, a new moody, chill dance project emerging from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Great Highway producer, saxophonist and baritone guitarist Jason Hunter (aka Aeon Lucian) joins forces with electric harpist Starla Islas to make this brand-new soul house / indie dance duo. The music is high-energy and danceable, capturing a hypnotically moody vibe generated by deep synth textures, low sensual bass-y vocals surrounded by layered lush harmonies, and driving rhythmic harp and guitar. Aeon and Starla are music festival junkies who've taken their musical cues from the likes of Forester, Monolink, and Parra for Cuva. They pair beats that make you dance with lyrics that make your heart ache, all rolled into a livetronica presentation that is wild and immersive on stage and in the studio.

Their debut single "Our Future Island," out October 2022, was the first step in a long spacewalk toward an eventual album to be released later in 2023. It was streamed over 22k times in its first month on Spotify, and received acclaim from critics and influencers alike. Spiritual Awakening Music calls it "brimming with awesome style; classic downtempo house with suave vocals." New Artist Discoveries says, "It's engaging, energetic, full of inspiration." And Oceanify noted the combining of "beautiful elements to form sweet and progressive layered melodies."
