About this concert
GATES: 4:30 PM SHOW: 6:00 PM OUTDOOR SHOW - blankets and lawn chairs welcome! All ages show. We'll have food trucks, bars for those 21+, and fun for everyone! Rain or shine event. Wheelchair accessible ramps into the lawn and ADA portable restroom provided. DIRTY HEADS have mixed hip-hop, reggae, and rock to create a unique sound that both fully embodies their Southern California roots and resonates with audiences around the globe. The group formed when punk rocker Dustin Bushnell (aka Duddy B) asked his friend, rapper Jared Watson (aka Dirty J), to collaborate on a project that would focus on positive vibes and infectious grooves. Dirty Heads later grew to five members and began building an immense audience, eventually out streaming some of the biggest alternative acts in the U.S. SLIGHTLY STOOPID, led by the vastly versatile duo of Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, has expanded its fusion of rock, reggae, acoustic soul, hip hop, heavy metal, and punk rock, and achieved artistic freedom and commercial success while subscribing to their own DIY ethos. In the process, the talented collective has grown both onstage- from their original trio to a seven-piece ensemble- and as the generational forebearer of an immensely growing subculture and lifestyle movement. COMMON KINGS are more than a band of musicians, they are a family, a lifestyle, a community, a brother and sisterhood, having grown up together in California’s Orange County, four college mates who first met at a backyard barbeque 20-some years ago. Common Kings have been releasing music on their own Island Empire/Mensch House Records label for more than a decade. Their island rhythms are as seductive as a lazy ocean breeze, with a narrative that is an All-American story with a tropical twist. THE ELOVATERS have quickly become a household name for lovers of Sublime, Jack Johnson, Slightly Stoopid, G. Love, Stick Figure, The Movement, and more. They won Artist Of The Year, and Live Act of The Year in the 2022 New England Music Awards, and a few months later were voted Reggae/Ska Artist of The Year in the Boston Music Awards. Their music has been featured on CBS’ Hawaii Five-O and their song “Boston” was played during the World Series Parade when the Boston Red Sox won in 2018.

As a fan and passionate music lover, I have been completely captivated by the vibrant energy and unique sound of The Elovaters. This band is a true gem in the reggae scene, bringing a fresh perspective to a genre that often risks sounding repetitive. The Elovaters manage to make every song feel distinct and exciting, a testament to their exceptional creativity and musical prowess. The lead singer’s vocal talent is a standout feature of the band. His voice is rich and soulful, delivering each lyric with an emotional depth that resonates deeply with listeners. It's a rare gift to find a voice that can convey both power and sensitivity so seamlessly. The rest of the band complements his voice beautifully, crafting a lush and dynamic soundscape that elevates their music beyond the typical reggae fare. One of the things I appreciate most about The Elovaters is their ability to infuse their music with uplifting and positive energy. Their songs are not only catchy but also carry a message of hope and joy, making their music a perfect antidote to life's challenges. Even though they are part of a crowded reggae scene, The Elovaters distinguish themselves by their unique sound and heartfelt performances, ensuring that each track offers something new and refreshing. I recently had the opportunity to see The Elovaters perform live, and they did not disappoint. Despite being the opening act for Deadhead and Slightly Stoopid, they delivered a standout performance that left a lasting impression. Their set was filled with some of my favorite songs, and while I was a bit disappointed they didn't play "MIA," their overall performance was incredible. The energy they brought to the stage was palpable, and their connection with the audience was genuine and heartfelt. The Elovaters are undoubtedly underrated and deserve more recognition for their talent and hard work. They deserve more stage time and opportunities to showcase their exceptional music. As a music critic, I am excited to see where their journey takes them and am confident that they will continue to rise in the ranks of reggae music. The Elovaters are a band worth following, and I can't wait to see them flourish and share their positive vibes with an even larger audience.
