Lucia Boffo Biography
BIO LUCIA BOFFO
Born in the southernmost city of Argentina, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, and left in Buenos Aires for 11 years, now established in Berlin.
Lucia Boffo is a singer, composer, improviser and has been a singing professor since 2015 at the jazz program of Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda (EMPA), Buenos Aires, where she also did her studies in vocal jazz. She also coordinates a Workshop in vocal improvisation with whom she traveled all over Argentina and Uruguay, and now starting in Europe. She studied with Marina Rama, Guadalupe Raventos, Juan Cruz de Urquiza, Elisa Viladesau, Joey Blake, Christine Correa, Diego Schissi, Guillermo Klein, among others in vocal jazz, vocal technique, jazz improvisation, and composition.
She has integrated different groups of jazz and original music, with which she has recorded different materials, many of these albums for the Argentine record label “El Club del Disco”, and also the Japanese record label “Inparmaint”. Some of these projects are Mingunos (a tribute to Charles Mingus), Tomás Fares & The Sindicalistas (original music), the vocal jazz trio HIP SISTA (a tribute to jazz composers), and the duo Andrés Marino & Lucía Boffo (original music), Plachta y la Cocina Magnética (original music). With these and other groups he has participated in Jazz festivals throughout Argentina (Ushuaia, Santa Fe, Ramallo, Cordoba, Mendoza, Mar del Plata, etc), also of the 2013/14/15/16 editions of the International Jazz Festival of Buenos Aires along with different projects musicals, and I also participate in several editions of the Jazz a la Calle Encounter, Uruguay.
