Soaring atmosphere, cinematic, trance-inducing hypnotic.
Layering vocal harmonies, sequencers, thumping bass and spacey guitar, the duo creates a unique mix of audio flavors and hues. Poetic lyrics and passionate vocals meld with bold and catchy synth melodies. Songs that defy the gravity of genres.
At the heart of this creative duo is songwriting and musical exploration – how they glue it together changes continually. With each album, you get the upper, current layer of the musical strata. The Upper Strata create an engaging live experience with soulful vocal harmonies, topical yet poetic lyrics, guitar (soaked in effects) and a driving bass. Sequencers, samples and keyboard sounds round out the songs with textual and atmospheric layers.
