Iron Horse is a contemporary bluegrass band that weaves together traditional roots and modern influences to create a fresh, engaging sound that captivates audiences across generations. The band has gained widespread acclaim for their inventive bluegrass tributes to iconic artists from various genres. Their most popular tribute songs include a rollicking rendition of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” a hauntingly beautiful take on Radiohead’s “Paranoid Android,” and a lively bluegrass spin on The Beatles’ classic “Eleanor Rigby.” Their dynamic performances feature tight vocal harmonies, virtuosic instrumentals, and soulful, foot stomping energy.

Iron Horse Biography
Iron Horse is a cover band that has done bluegrass versions of songs by bands ranging from Modest Mouse to Metallica to Pink Floyd.
Iron Horse is also a Scottish Folk band. And also, apparently, a classic rock band: http://www.ironhorseband.com/ which I didn't realize before I bought the new album. Oh well.
Already well established on the traditional music scene, the band first demanded the attention of a broader public through the music they created for the BBC TV documentary series, "The Gamekeeper" (1995). Since its formation in 1990, the band's sound and line-up gradually evolved from acoustic beginnings to a dynamic merging of traditional and contemporary music at its most effective during their live shows capturing the audience with their infectious enthusiasm and vitality. The Iron Horse were Annie Grace (whistles and vocals), Ross Kennedy (guitars and vocals), Gavin Marwick (fiddle), Lynn Morrison (keyboard and vocals), and Rod Paul (whistles, mandolin, banjo, guitar).
Iron Horse were a band with enormous energy who continually expanded and developed their musical horizons. From ambient grooves to driving instrumentals, from intimate vocal moments to powerful and dramatic songs, and from acoustic settings to contemporary arrangements, Iron Horse always took their audience on a unique journey through their ever-expanding repertoire. The band retired in 2001 but all the members have continued to be involved at the forefront of the traditional music scene in various other projects.
