Originally from the UK, Henri has called Austin, TX home for the past three years. His concert at The Lounge at World Cafe Live is his debut performance in Philadelphia. It's a rare opportunity to witness first-hand the music that birthed rock n’ roll and inspired so many of today’s rock legends. In concert, Henri makes clear that this rollicking sound remains as invigorating today as it did 100 years ago when boogie and blues began its takeover of barrooms and juke joints across America. This show is Henri’s only concert in the Philadelphia region. ★★ NEW ALBUM★★ On Friday, September 23, Henri Herbert releases his latest album, ‘Boogie ‘Till I Die,’ a solo piano recording featuring both instrumentals and vocal tracks. The record is an ode to the vigor, breadth and staying power of boogie-woogie piano with Henri showcasing new originals and taking on many of his favorite songs popularized by several of his all-time favorite artists. The latter range from the highly-energized ‘Don’t Mean A Thing’ to ‘Sweet Lorraine,’ ‘Must Have Been The Devil,’ Oscar Peterson’s stunning ‘Hymn To Freedom’ and Albert Ammons & Pete Johnson’s “Sixth Avenue Express” featuring a boogie duet by Henri and Chuck Leavell (master player who has been the keyboardist and de facto musical director of The Rolling Stones since 1982). ‘Boogie ‘Till I Die’ is intoxicating from start to finish and is poised to bring this soul-stirring American artform, boogie-woogie, to new audiences worldwide. "I’m thrilled to share my new album with the world this September and get back out on the road playing these songs," states Henri. "A silver lining of the last two years was getting to take my time with this record. These are many of my all-time favorite compositions and am proud of these recordings. Gonna boogie ‘till I die with a rockin’ night of music at World Cafe Live.” _

Henri Herbert Biography

Henri Herbert is a piano-playing phenomenon. He currently resides in Austin, Texas and tours extensively in the United States and Europe as a soloist. From an early age, Herbert was fascinated by the piano-pounding pioneers Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino and Pete Johnson. A video of Henri playing an impromptu blues on the public piano in London’s St Pancras Train Station has now reached an incredible 70 million views on Youtube. Henri was personally invited to perform with Canadian rock star Bryan Adams at Bryan’s Christmas party in London in 2014, and in 2022 gave a special performance in Nice, France for the Royal Family of Monaco. He has been hired for a return performance in Nice for 2025
Henri was a member of the famous rock'n'roll band The Jim Jones Revue from 2011 to 2014, performing several world tours, including appearances at Rock En Seine in Paris, David Letterman's The Late Show in New York and Album of the Week on Canal + in Paris. After the dissolution of The Jim Jones Revue, Herbert embarked on a solo career and has released several albums under his own name. All these releases were accompanied by numerous international tours including sell out concerts in London and New York City. He is a regular performer at The Arches Piano Stage, and he has performed at the Cincinnati Blues Festival, South By Southwest Festival, Milan Piano Festival and the International Jazz Festival in Davos, Switzerland, as well as 2 sold out shows at The Blue Note in Hawaii. Henri is also in great demand as an accompanist, having worked with Bryan Adams, Kim Wilson, Carolyn Wonderland, Dave Alvin, Charlie Sexton and The Fabulous Thunderbirds.
