Nobody's Girl Biography

Nobody’s Girl is an Austin based songwriting trio formed by award-winning writers and performers BettySoo, Rebecca Loebe, and Grace Pettis. After years of running into each other at festivals and shows on the road, the three South Austin neighbors have united to create something truly special.

Their harmonies' unique vocal blend is on display in their first full length album, the self-titled Nobody’s Girl, which comes out via Lucky Hound Music on July 10, 2020. The new record features nine original tunes that the trio co-wrote together for this project, as well as two hand-picked originals. Produced by Michael Ramos (Patty Griffin, Lila Downs, Pat Green, etc.), the group are perfectly framed by a who’s who of modern legends from the Austin music scene.

The first singles: “Kansas” (March 6th), “Rescued” (May 15th), and “Tiger” (June 19th) are crystal clear examples of the chemistry these
three writers share. In these songs – and the record as a whole – they explore themes of personal, social, and political division; rebelling
against societal expectations; and leaving behind confining expectations of family and small hometowns. They ruminate on the challenges of finding one’s path in the world, being on the verge of making really bad decisions in the face of mounting stress, mourning the end of something good, being unsure of the legacy of our collective histories…and also letting loose and having some fun. There’s beauty and depth.

They will be touring the US and abroad in support of this album after its release in July and will kick things off with an official showcase at
SXSW in Austin in March. A June 7th taping of Mountain Stage (NPR) should air the weekend of the new albums’ release or the weekend
thereafter.
