Built For Comfort Biography
Current line-up - Built for Comfort is: Alec Adams (Vocals), Simon Addis (Drums), Michael Januszkiewicz (Bass), Michael King (Guitars) and Simon Needler (Keyboards).
‘Built for Comfort’ emerged from the ashes of Swindon based ‘The Hot Tamales’ in July 2002. Founder members Alec Adams and Bill Jones had met in the summer of 2000 when Alec was seeking harmonica lessons.
And so the story began.... By the summer of 2004 the band had played over 65 gigs, averaging about one a week, and continues to do so. Built For Comfort have created a reputation as a lively and entertaining act playing around Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff, Bath, Portsmouth and Oxford over the last 18 years and are always seeking new venues to ply their particular brand of blues and rhythm and blues.
When it comes to hot Chicago rhythm and blues, Built for Comfort take no prisoners. A real love for the music is evident in the musicians’ original arrangements of the classics such as “Key To The Highway” and “Dust My Broom” mixed with some lesser known numbers that never fail to please. This group’s passion for rhythm and blues music transports their listeners to some steamy U.S. bar, where the smoke is blue, the atmosphere lively and fun and the music gut-wrenchingly excellent.
Four albums are currently available, ‘Not Too Fast, Not Too Slow’ recorded in 2002, ‘Gone But Not Forgotten’ in 2005, ‘Blues Ain’t Nothin’ recorded in 2007 and ‘Bring It On Home’ recorded in 2012.
