Though not a time-traveler you could easily believe that Baltimore emcee Ill Conscious just arrived from the golden age of hip hop in a DeLorean. Da God comes equipped with a jazzy tone and a mastery of a multi-syllabic flow chock full of life-science, first-hand street experience as well as gems derived from 5% Teachings and Biblical scripture. In other words, to a global audience of underground heads he is 100% the truth! A veteran of many a cypher and battle since his beginnings in 2007, Ill Conscious dropped his first solo release The Essence in 2016 (recently re-released by Chopped Herring Records). By the time of his 2018 offering The Prerequisite he was squad-ed up with like-minded and equally legit B-More brethren Dirt Platoon and Guy Grams.

A European Tour in 2018 with this line-up also took time to record an EP while in Paris that was released as Parimore the following year. In 2018 he also released the Sorcery EP (in collaboration with Portuguese producer MZ Boom Bap). With the amalgamation of elevated instrumentals and anthemic bars, Sorcery has garnered over three million streams so far and propelled the demand for his successful South American tour in 2019. His third solo release Logistix (2019) featured appearances from J Scienide, Recognize Ali, Ice Lord, AA Rashid, Code Nine and more. Resonating strongly with the B-Boy community which passionately keep the 4 elements of hip-hop alive, Ill Conscious songs have become staples in competitions including at the Red Bull BC One event in September 2022.
The skills and the flow also propelled Ill Conscious to Shade45 (SiriusXM) where hosts (and legends in their own right) Statik Selektah (Show Off Radio) and Lord Sear (The Lord Sear Special) tapped him to freestyle (links to those segments below). In addition, Top Shelf Premium recently tapped him for an “Off Top” segment (link below).

In 2022 the emcee released his long simmering LP Acres Of Diamonds (entirely produced by New Jersey’s Mute Won). With press and fan response favorable across the board, Ill Conscious and Snook Da Crook (Dirt Platoon) did their first postpandemic tour in Europe summer 2022.

Fourteen shows across three countries, this recent jaunt climaxed with an appearance on a festival stage in Germany supporting legends of that scene Toni-L and MC Torch. In addition to appearances on recent tracks alongside such notables as Planet Asia, Elzhi and Mickey Factz, Ill Conscious is readying more heat for 2024. Ill recently released an EP with producer BudaMunk (Japan) 4/20/23 and is currently preparing to release a forthcoming LP late 2024, Ipuwer’s Account with Toronto’s own Finn. Tuthmosis is the first single and visual for the project, available now. Ill is also releasing another LP in 2025 The Art of Raw LP produced by Type Raw from Loopholes (Norway) which includes features from Hex One, Blu & Masta Ace. Most recently in 2023, ILL has tapped in with the World Emcee platform, formally known as TeamBackPack, showing his skills as one of the elite rhyme spitters of today.

Ill is continuing to propel his brand to new heights in 2024 and 2025 whether it is being a supporting act on the Common and Pete Rock, The Auditorium Tour, Souls of Mischief 93’ Til Infinity Tour or headlining big stages such as the Baltimore x Baltimore Festival.
