Jason Lang’s foray into music began at the age of six: he sang on a jingle meant for McDonald's. At twelve, he recorded his first pro studio session backup vocals. By sixteen, he was performing in jams, then clubs, which led to a successful recording and touring career as a versatile, in-demand musician with artists such as Corey Hart and Kate & Anna McGarrigle. Jason Lang’s 3rd album 'Handled with Care' was recorded in honour of his late mother, Canadian folk music icon Penny Lang. His most special album to date, he wanted to pay homage to her legacy by recording some of her favorite songs. The result is the eclectic mix of old-timey country blues, folk, and soulful melodies you hear here. Drawing on traditional and modern influences, these songs explore themes of alcoholism, mental health, family, and being down and out, and even, yes, happiness. The album is a beautiful and raw dive into the nuances of everyday life.
