Über Matthew Armitage
Matthew Armitage
Matthew Armitage is a New Zealand-born multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and singer now based in Northern NSW. Blending raw garage blues, South Pacific soul, and mellow psychedelia, he has become a staple of the Byron Bay music scene.
Since releasing his debut EP Over Oceans in 2014, Armitage has performed extensively across Australia, both solo and with projects including The Swamps and Chesta Hedron. His debut album New Tide (2018) was toured nationally alongside Pete Murray.
His latest release, Back to the Flow (2023), continues to showcase his laid-back, groove-driven sound. Armitage regularly performs along Australia’s east coast, bringing his signature style to intimate venues and festival stages alike.
