Grandloom ist wahrscheinlich die dienstälteste Stoner-Band in Cottbus. Bereits 1995 gründete Thomas dieses Trio unter Einfluss der neuen Klänge, die aus dem Palm Desert herübergeweht kamen. Nach einigen Besetzungsänderungen spielten die drei anfänglich mit zwei Gitarren, Drums und ohne Gesang. Über zehn Jahre vergingen so im süßlichen Nebel des Proberaumes, bis 2007 Hans am Bass und Rischi an den Drums zu Grandloom stießen, um zwei drittel der Gründungsmitglieder abzulösen. Nur Thomas blieb noch an der Gitarre. Mit dieser neuen Besetzung kam dann auch langsam der Erfolg. Es folgten Auftritte mit vielen bekannten Bands wie z.B. Graveyard, Brant Bjork, Orange Goblin, Karma to Burn oder den Truckfighters. 2010 ging es für Grandloom erstmals mit der zunächst auf CD und später auch auf Vinyl veröffentlichten EP „5 Dollar Jam“ auf Tour. Das erste Album „Sunburst“ und zwei weitere Touren durch Deutschland und Europa folgten 2011. Bis Ende 2012 spielte Grandloom ca. 200 Shows in 12 Ländern. Dabei waren denkwürdige Auftritte auf Festivals wie dem „Stoned from the Underground“ oder dem „Desertfest“ in Berlin, wo sie mit Monster Magnet und Motorpsycho die Bühne teilten. Erst 2013 kam es zu einer erneuten Umbesetzung: Rischi stieg aus und überließ den Hocker hinterm Schlagzeug Tim. Gerade rechtzeitig. After some changes in the line-up the band used to play with two guitars, drums and without vocals in the beginning. More than ten years passed by in the sweet haze of the rehearsal room until some of the founder members were replaced by Hans on the bass and Rischi on the drums in 2007. With the new line-up the wheels slowly started turning: Grandloom started to play concerts with a lot of well-known bands like Graveyard, Brant Bjork, Orange Goblin, Karma to Burn or Truckfighters. In 2010 Grandloom went on tour for the frist time with their „5 Dollar Jam“ EP, which was released on CD and later on Vinyl. This was followed by their first album „Sunburst“ and two more tours through Germany and Europe in 2011. Until the end of 2012 Grandloom played about 200 shows in 12 countries, including famous festivals like „Stoned from the Underground“ or „Desertfest Berlin“, where they shared the stage with Monster Magnet and Motorpsycho.
