LUJURIA (Spanish for Lust) is a hard-rock band, formed in 2006 Buenos Aires, Argentina, by Matt Houdini
Martin Medina , bass and chorus,Paris Bierk, drums and chorus (actually)
LUJURIA released their first record, Inocencia Perdida, (produced by Raymundo Fajardo, from the band “Jauria”)
in 2007 to critical acclaim. Touring extensively in South America.
In 2007, their hard work paid off when they bested 30,000 Latin American bands in MTV’s contest, “La Zona”. Exposure on MTV catapulted them into the national limelight.
In 2009 LUJURIA’s next record was released titled Hellavodka, a record with blunt, direct songs and a much more aggressive and mature sound, leaving behind the previous album’s psychedelic melodies. It generated 3 hit singles and subsequent videos were in rotation on MTV, Much Music, Quiero Musica & Vorterix.
In April 2013 LUJURIA released Pincushion, manufactured and distributed by Punch Your Face Records. The single, "Feel So High," received a lot of traction throughout Latin American- including features on MTV, Mash Music and Rock & Pop.
After non-stop touring, Matt Houdini went on an intense creative burst culminating with the September 2014 release of LUJURIA's most potent and controversial record to date: Toxikiller. This album led to more airplay and attention and turned them into one of the most important alternative hard-rock bands in Argentina. It was time to expand to international projects.
In 2015, former manager of Mars Volta, Cesar Rosas, invited Matt on a press tour throughout Mexico and Los Angeles. While in Los Angeles, he met producer Ronnie King (Tupac Shakur, Offspring) who became a fan and convinced him to come back to the United States with the rest of the band.
In 2016, LUJURIA began touring through Mexico and the United States. To commemorate the tour, LUJURIA released the album, "Rockeando el Pavimento”, a compilation of their live performances during the tour by the record label Cleopatra Records from California .
In 2017, recognizing the traction that had been created in Southern California, the band returned to the United States and began touring. By early
2018 LUJURIA's latest project, Sextorsion, became available in digital format. The album featured Jesse Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal) and Nick Olivieri (Mondo Generator, Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss). The single,"Colmillo Blanco" and "Electricity" became available as part of a pre-release promo y a su ves logran captar la marca de guitarras GIBSON , ASBURY PARK JEANS y ZEKI (HEMP industrial) como sponsors del grupo generandole un mayor impacto en la escena local de california .
