Named after the 1840s railway worker named Phineas Gage who had an unfortunate incident with a sharp object, Brighton's Phinius Gage have been playing fast punk rock in his honour all around the UK and into Europe since 2003. Their debut mini-album, 'More Haste More Speed', cemented the band's position as a strong underground band, and to date tours/shows with the likes of [SPUNGE], TEN FOOT POLE (U.S), FARSE, REUBEN, WHITMORE, REDLIGHTSFLASH (Aus), ANTI-NOWHERE LEAGUE, ROUTE 215, FASTLANE, RUFIO (U.S.), CAPTAIN EVERYTHING, 4FT FINGERS, ANTIMANIAX (Aus) and STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO (U.S) have spread the word far and wide.

The band released their debut full length album, 'The Feeling Something's Wrong, on Deck Cheese Records in the UK in 2005. Positive press reviews (see quotes below), cable TV and radio play, including a BBC Radio 1 Session followed, as well as an almost continuous touring schedule (350 shows in 3 years and counting), have helped Phinius Gage build up a reputation as one of the UK's most powerful and energetic live punkrock bands.

The band signed to FOND OF LIFE records in Germany, and WINGED SKULL records of Luxembourg in late 2005, releasing a compilation of new and re-recorded, out-of-print tracks. Entitled 'Brighton Rock', the release has helped to promote the band to a new, wider audience. The band are currently on tour in the UK and mainland Europe to support it's release, and are writing new material for a new record in the second half of 2006.
