Über Donell Jones

Donell Jones
Donell Jones (born May 22, 1973) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, producer, and musician whose unmistakable voice, honest songwriting, and timeless catalog have made him one of the defining voices of R&B.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Jones first gained recognition as a songwriter and producer, contributing to records for artists including Usher, 702, Brownstone, and Silk. In 1996, he released his debut album, My Heart, introducing listeners to the smooth vocals, vulnerability, and storytelling that would become signatures of his sound. The album included his celebrated rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Knocks Me Off My Feet.”
His breakthrough album, Where I Wanna Be, arrived in 1999 and became an R&B classic. The album delivered “U Know What’s Up,” featuring Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC, the unforgettable title track “Where I Wanna Be,” “Shorty (Got Her Eyes on Me),” and “This Luv.”
Jones continued his success with Life Goes On in 2002, featuring fan favorites “You Know That I Love You” and “Put Me Down,” followed by Journey of a Gemini, Lyrics, Forever, and 100% Free.
For generations of R&B fans, Donell Jones’ music is more than a collection of songs. His records are connected to first loves, relationships, heartbreaks, late-night drives, and memories that still feel as vivid today as when the music was first released. His ability to write honestly about love, vulnerability, accountability, and relationships has helped his music remain relevant across generations.
Nearly three decades after My Heart, Donell Jones continues to bring timeless R&B to audiences through his music and live performances, connecting longtime fans with a new generation discovering his catalog.

Was die Fans sagen
Donell Jones was great, sang all his songs all the way through and still has such a smooth voice. However ginuwine was very disappointing, barely singing, only sung a few words or lines here and there. He was mostly performative dancing round the stage, which was a shame, as I would have loved him to sing his songs all the way through. The venue was the worst part, as it's an old concert hall/theatre there is no air con, it was sweltering in there. It's a beautiful building but definitely should not be hosting in concerts in the summer, everyone was sweating and fanning themselves.

Donell sang hit after hit. It was a fantastic trip down memory lane.
