Joe Russo's Almost Dead

Very talented musicians doing a great job covering the Grateful Dead. Vocally they were awesome as well. A few other covers thrown in were amazing including Watchtower and Pigs (Pink Floyd). I’ll be sure to catch them again next chance I get.

Wow!!! Best band I’ve seen in years!!! Thankfully I saw both nights!! And the Perinton town hall is an amazing venue with the easiest in and out of any venue ever. The band was absolutely phenomenal and have converted a fan for life!!

Always a 5 Star night with JRAD and their 5 all stars. I’m always blown away by their skills and the musical adventure they take us on. Let it Grow🔥Think they even mixed in some post Malone. Looking forward to Sunday nights show.

Great venue. Good size with good access to bars. Room to stand up and dance in the back areas. A bit crowded on the floor in front of the stage. The band played Dead but also some other artists. Good musicians, especially the bassist. The jams were too long and tedious with the lead guitarist showing off too much and straying too far from each song's melody. I went to thirty Dead shows while Jerry was alive. I like to dance. The numbers Almost Dead played were not that danceable. The last two numbers were great: Eyes of the World and Along the Watch Tower.

What an amazing show last night! The boys were on fire and even got bonus JRAD sitting in with the Fruit Bats. The atmosphere at the Frost Amphitheater at Stanford was feeding off of the great energy from the band.

Unbelievable show. St. Stephen to start the second set was in credible. Bertha and Throwing Stones 🔥. Joe’s daughter’s one stage for multiple songs. Actually pretended to be playing the guitar strumming along and jumping around the stage they weren’t just standing there and definitely not around of being on camera. Looked right into the camera for the video screen like it was normal. Joe you should be a proud dad.

It was a great show. The set list was fantastic. I was in fantasy land. And Jerry showed up with Jimi and Janis and they did a slow bluesy Bobby McGee. Sinatra came out for the encore. The old dude can rock.

Lots of fun and on fire 🔥. Great to have Otiel with the band. Otiel sang High Time and we got the full Terrapin Suite which was a huge treat. First time at Anthem and was impressed. Thanks for getting them here Walther. Cregg

Had been waiting for an appearance by JRAD in Pittsburgh since relocating to the area from Philly (a hotbed of JRAD shows) in 2017. This one did not disappoint and was entirely worth the wait. Scotty experienced technical difficulties throughout the first set, which might have hampered the vibe, but each was excellent though they didn't really go deep. The band's performance did achieve liftoff during the first set finale Let It Grow (30+ minutes) and continued throughout the entire second set. It's not even worth listing the other highlight songs, the entire set was outrageous. The band legitimately seemed overwhelmed by the support of the crowd during band intros. A lot of first-timers had their doors blown off by this show, which hopefully signals a return engagement in Pittsburgh sometime soon ...hopefully an outdoor show at Stage AE.

JRAD never ceases to make me dance my a*s off! It was during Tropical Storm Ida, and the show had been canceled 8/22 thinking it would hit the Boston area then. It was pouring rain, but the crowd was such that we could all fit undercover. This show is right on par with some of the very best Westville shows from their summer residency - we danced insanely hard the entire show! Five+ stars for sure!

I was taken away near the end, and am still figuring things out. I will get by, and will help others to survive. I'm just not exactly savvy to how things are done these days. I look forward to seeing you, and your fans live when it is safe to do so. Until then, be grateful. ☮️

Off the F’n charts !! Think there’s a scoorch make on the earth like a meteor landing there that nite! Thank Joe,Tom , Dave , Marco , and Scott! Have a happy safe And blessed holiday!!

They are tight yet innovative. While they play Grateful Dead songs they bring a refreshing interpretation with great talent and creativity. Showing respect to the past but looking to the future. I was blown away. It was far better than any cover band I have seen and more enjoyable than most Of the Dead shows I have been to recently.

Best time in a long time. Way to capture an audience and pull us back and forth into the realm of magic...Benevento had crazy fingers and the band gave us many adventures including the deep, the high, the introspective, and grabbed us by surprise at the core of the soul more than once. What crazy brilliant musicians these guys are. WOW.

Grateful as always when I see them.. first set was a little off for me.. second set was on fire 🔥 ... danced💃 the night away .. and got to turn a friend on to JRAD .. so all in all a stellar evening

Holy wow! I went because I felt like I had to, considering we don’t get much in Wisconsin. I’ve listened to them before recorded, but wasn’t overwhelmed. They were obviously good, but I’d rather just listen to real GD. But after attending their live show, I walked away amazed. They aren’t trying to be GD. Yes, it’s all their songs. But they clearly do it their own way. And I loved it.

Bring an extra face, because the first one is gonna melt off. They played nonstop from the first note of the first set to the last note, then did the same thing again in the second set (with Mayer joining them), and again in the 2 song encore. These guys are "rage mode" Dead. Go see them.
