great show. the venue security was a bit screwed up. I guess using their new x-ray machine really slowed checking everyone into the venue. the opening band didn't even play.

Über Autolux
Autolux is Eugene Goreshter (vocals, bass) Greg Edwards (guitar, vocals) and Carla Azar (drums, vocals). The trio formed in 1999 in Los Angeles, CA. Carla Azar and Eugene Goreshter had met while scoring Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo's play Accidental Death of an Anarchist. Azar had also made acquaintance with Greg Edwards when Azar's former band, Ednaswap, had toured with Edwards' former band Failure. Following Azar's departure from Ednaswap, and the break up of Failure, the three began to discuss and formulate ideas about what Autolux was and should be.
In August of 2000, Autolux made their debut, playing two shows at the Silverlake Lounge. On March 1st, 2001, the band released a self-produced EP entitled Demonstration. It contained five songs recorded on an 8 track in their rehearsal space. Armed with recorded material, word of Autolux quickly spread.
Autolux signed with DMZ, a label created by legendary producer T-Bone Burnett and the Coen Brothers. Burnett was a friend of Azar's, she having played for him in the past, as well as Burnett's wife, Sam Phillips. Impressed with band's live show, he approached them after a show and said that he would start his own label and sign them.
A devastating blow was dealt to the band in May of 2002 when Carla fell 10 feet from a stage after Autolux had opened for Elvis Costello. Her elbow was shattered. However, due to an experimental surgery involving a bone graft from her hip and 8 titanium screws, she made a full and complete recovery.
In November 2002, Autolux entered the studio. Breaking in December, they finished primary recording in January 2003. In contrast with the 8-track recording method employed during the making of "Demonstration", T-Bone Burnett wished to capture the band's live sound on the album. Following the initial recording, the band began to mix and record overdubs to flesh out the songs. Throughout 2003, the album would be mixed numerous times, though they were never satisfied. At last they turned to Dave Sardy, former front-man of Barkmarket. In early 2004, the album was ready to master.
A series of unsatisfactory masterings marked the long march to their debut's release, with dates being set and pulled by the label on a monthly basis. September 21st, 2004 was the final date set, but a printing snafu delayed it further yet. The packaging for the album was made improperly, causing the entire first run of the album to be recalled and destroyed. In spite of this, roughly 1200 copies still made it into circulation. October 26th, 2004 saw the release of the band's debut full length, Future Perfect. The album was met with high critical praise, and the band kicked off 2005 with a 30 date engagement with the band The Secret Machines.
