Über Route 67 Band
Route 67
Route 67 (Pronounced “Root 67”) was founded in 2001, and is comprised of entertainers and musicians who have been a part of the Country Music scene for many years. Route 67 focuses on Country Music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, as well as a few newer tunes and some original songs as well. This group has worked hard to develop their own unique style, and has managed to stay busy performing, recording and pleasing crowds everywhere.
The band has just completed its fourth CD, and is looking forward to another year of shows throughout the country. Route 67 performed twice on “Ernest Tubb’s Midnight Jamboree”, on WSM Radio in Nashville, which is the second longest running radio show in history, next to the Grand Ole Opry.
Route 67 has performed with Gene Watson, Ray Price, Mark Wills, Moe Bandy, John Conlee, Little Jimmy Dickens, Highway 101, Connie Smith, Earl Thomas Conley, T.G. Sheppard, Mel McDaniel, Mark Wills, Daryle Singletary, Aaron Tippin, T. Graham Brown, Joe Diffie, Brett Eldridge, Sam Hunt, Michael Ray, William Michael Morgan, Lorrie Morgan, David Frizzell and others. The band has also backed up country legends Jack Greene and Hank Thompson, as well as Missouri hit songwriter/singer Leona Williams and her son Ron Williams.
Colleen Kay Gallagher (Lead vocals/Bass Guitar)- Colleen been performing since the age of eight years old, singing with Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Marty Stuart, Webb Pierce, Bob Luman, The Kendalls, Sawyer Brown and many others.
Jim Gallagher (Drums) - Jim has been playing drums since the age of five, working with gospel and country bands across the country. Jim has opened for Ricochet, Shenandoah, Jeff Bates, Marty Stuart and others. Jim has spent much time doing session work, and is currently the engineer at Underground Studio, owned by Jim and Colleen.
Josh Driskill (Lead Vocals/Lead Guitar) - Josh was born with music in his blood. He began performing on stage at the age of 3 with his family's show. At 13 he took up bass guitar but soon decided he would rather play lead guitar. With help from family & friends he found his niche.
His grandparents opened the Plummer Family Country Music Show; the third theatre in Branson, MO, where the entire family entertained crowds for 18 years.
Darren Thomas (Lead Guitarist/Vocalist)- Darren began playing guitar at 10 years of age, and started his career playing in church and in school, winning awards for his guitar skills. He began writing songs at an early age, penning his lyrics from mostly true life experiences. Darren is a young musician with an old soul with a love for traditional Country Music. Randy Travis and George Jones and Chet Atkins are major influences in his career, as well as jazz greats like Tommy Emmanuel.
