Über the Dirty South
The Dirty South are a Southern Rock tribute band based in and around Tyne and Wear.
We have been around for some 11 years or so now and have enjoyed playing a number of great events across the region.
The band has a set list based heavily in the golden era of Southern Rock, largely around the songs of Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Bros, Molly Hatchet and Blackfoot, although we also cover more recent material such as ZZ Top, Blackberry Smoke and Steve Earle.
Named after a Drive-by-Truckers album, The Dirty South have deliberatley set out to try and play a style of music that, although popular, hasn't been covered by many of the region's bands.
As of yet, we don't play any tracks off the album we took our name from. That will change, eventually.
