I am a big fan, so you’ll have to factor that in, but I loved the show. They did a great job of balancing the new album with some classics over the 14 song set. I wish they had played longer, but every song they played was great. I’d not been to The Factory, and it’s a great venue for a show. The sound was great and the crowd was the perfect size. Great energy without being jammed together so much that you can’t enjoy the music. I would definitely see another show there.

Opening bands were Fu Man Shoo and Clutch. I never heard of either band but Clutch with their followers definitely outdid Fu. One third of the crowd left when Clutch finished up. Why? No clue, because RS is so much better than both acts. However we were disappointed with the minimal song selection played that evening. They left out 3 hits with the biggest imo being shooting stars! That's usually their closer. With that being said the band oozes with talent! Jay B is the best rock vocalist in the business today! Why they don't get tours with bigger bands baffles me to no end. If you truly want to see an old school hard rocking band? You have to check out Rival Sons whenever possible!

I think this one really lifted the roof...and the roof kept lifting until it reached the sky. Oh how we´d longed for this gig! Over the years Rival Sons have made plenty albums with stellar quality but theese two last ones, Darkfighter and Lightbringer, are nothing but pure magic! The crowd seethed with excitement and as the band entered the stage - Banan Kompaniet exploded with love, joy and gratitude. Rival Sons are like a well oiled machine - every part works exactly as it should and they complete each other as a team. Beste plays the bass so smooth and beautifully and even though he looks cool and calm on the outside - I know there´s a beast inside. Miley is a versatile vitruose on drums and I love how his playful and mischievous personalty shines through his work. Fuzzlord is a fashionable magician enchanting us with his guitars. An Jay, the Preacher... I know for sure God and the Devil envy that golden voice of his. I'm still floating on clouds of happiness and I´m already longing for the next gig. THANK YOU RIVAL SONS!

This was the first time we had managed to catch up with a live performance by Rival Sons. I have all of their albums and love their music, so I had high expectations for the evening. The support band came on and played a great set. L.A.Edwards were very good indeed. My expectations were surpassed as often a support band can not be engaging. Then the main event. Rival Sons took to the stage and completely blew me away with their musicianship, their passion, their amazing catalogue of material, and their sheer stage presence. What a band. When they came on stage, they looked cool, and when they launched into their set, my smile just widened, and I think I can honestly say that they astounded me. Best Rock gig I've ever been to. I cannot wait to see them live again.

For my sixth time seeing the Sons they were in top form for sure. Jay bounded around the stage from the start, was engaged with the crowd and was spot on vocally. Scott was the guitar god we all know he is, riffing throughout the evening while looking perpetually cool as f**k. Mike and Dave kept the rhythm tight and were a rock solid foundation. As much as it is weird not having Todd on stage, the four piece unit is straight up meat and potatoes and just plain kicks a*s. Like anyone, I could quibble about the setlist but I love that they mix it up and keep interesting for the fans and themselves. Ending the show with one of my faves, Secret, was the cherry on the top. Til next time.

Interesting trio of bands: Starcrawler, Black Angels & Rival Sons. It was an excellent experience from the venue, it's staff, and obviously all 3 bands. It was our 1st time @ The Fillmore Mpls and if any bands we follow play there - we will be there. I would have went to the concert even if Rival Sons or Black Angels were not on the bill. It was a great double header for us with Starcrawlers great set. I had heard of them but not heard them. I will be buying their 3 lps.

The Fillmore in Detroit is great but, this is the second time ive seen the Sons there and the building had issues the first time the heat went out and AC stayed on in winter , This time there were a couple of technical difficulties that were fixed and Rival Sons just played later and we were given a treat of an acoustic song from Jay while we waited. The Rival Sons are an amazing Rock n Roll Band and their live shows are not to be missed! The band holds you the entire time and you just do not want it to end. They always play a great mix of older songs even when supporting their new album DarkFighter. There is really something for everyone the casual i heard them on the radio fan all the way to this is my 14th show and omg theyre the best fan!! that last one is me btw! The show was magical as usual uplifting and banging! If you get to meet the guys theyre all very nice and such personalities. The only bummer was Todd their Keyboardist wasnt there and idkw but, whatever the reason my thoughts are with you and yours Todd as you were definitely missed! I wish they had more variety in their merch however, all their merch is very reasonably priced. if you have a chance definitely buy the tickets. the opening bands for the sons are always picked well and always worth going early for.

The RIVAL SONS NEVER disappoint. They are amazing and I would always return to see them perform. They represent complete SWAG in a band. Jay Buchanan has a breathtaking voice, Scott outshines every current guitarist, Michael is magnificent on drums and Dave is badass on bass. NO BANDS COMPARE TO THE RIVAL SONS!!! NONE. Starcrawler leaves a lot to be desired. I was disappointed in the singer and her attitude about Silver Springs and also towards people there. She was pretty disgusting and everyone around me thought the same thing. Would never return to see them at all. The band played well but she sucked beyond belief. The Record Company was Fabulous too. I would return to see them again as well. They know how to play some awesome music. Loved them. As for the venue... The bartenders seemed miserable. The guy who went through my 6" x 4" purse was nice but I did not think he needed to dig through my tiny purse like he did. I mean if there was a weapon or drugs he would have seen them right away... not move my money and keys out to see what else was in there. Geez... small wallet with a strap and acted as if I was carrying a napsack. He was at least pleasant ripping my purse all apart. Jessica and Carla were very pleasant. I enjoyed conversing with them. If anything put them in charge of some other things too. I mean a happy face is much better than the disgruntled barkeeps back there. One last tidbit... I paid decent money for the Meet and greet. It was like an assembly line. went through and got two things signed but did not get a word in edge wise... then went back around to get a photo... it was ridiculous to not have a minute to even say my name or give a comment about how much the Rival Sons mean to me. I paid $145 for a ticket and meet and greet and do not even feel like I met the band. So disappointed in that aspect of the night.

This was my first time seeing Rival Sons live, and they did not disappoint! They have an awesome Zeppelin-like edge. They came out rockin' and didn't stop! I love The Tabernacle because it's a historic old building, but it's not the best venue. Acoustics were good, but the seats in the balcony are not staggered, so it was hard to see around the person in front of me. It's also not ADA-friendly. LOTS of steps, and their pathetic excuse for an elevator does not eliminate all steps. Staff was very nice and helpful, and they had enough bathrooms for the size of the venue.

The show was an impressive display of professional musicianship,. The band was tight and Jay Buchanan’s. singing was passionate and commanding. Scott holiday has quickly run up the ranks of what are the best guitarists I’ve seen, and I have seen a lot. His collection of unique guitars should not be overlooked,. It added an extra element of entertainment to see what kind of interesting instrument he would switch out to next . Michael Miley presented his own contribution to the set by creating thunderous and crisp percussive accompaniment. He also seems to serve as the band’s unofficial cheerleader, by continuously engaging the crowd with animated looks, smiles, and mouthing the lyrics. He extinguishes the notion of drummers being stuck behind the kits with his occasional standup drumming routine. While Jay was upfront, immersing, the crowd in passionate and unbelievable talent as the vocalist, Dave Beste was holding down the fort with his solid execution of being the keg stand of the band, keeping a tight formation with Miley, while Holliday was allowed to put his virtuoso skills on display. While my vantage point in the crowd did not allow me for a better visual survey of. Beste, the audible opinion is that he nailed his position in the band’s show perfectly. I have no clue why this band is not bigger on a national scale. It must just be the sign of the times, with hip-hop and pop overtaking rock ‘n’ roll as the current currency of music. This band is the real deal. Apologies to the band for Atlanta not providing them with a sold out attendance, for which they absolutely deserve. I’m hoping that once this town gets over it’s hip-hop hangover, we will come to our senses and welcome these top performers with better attendance. come back soon, Rival Sons!

Absolutely incredible! This was our 5th time seeing RS. I'm so happy they were here local. It is difficult opening for or closing (in this case) because Rival sounds better than just about anybody live (props to their sound engineer). Rapture was incredible. The mix was majestic. The worst part was only having them for 45 minutes. We left early and were blessed to meet Miley. Just an epic experience. Go see Rival Sons live! Rock isn't dead; you're just listening to the wrong things!

Since the last time Rival Sons were at the Ogden and heroically gave a great show despite many members (including Jay) being sick, we were super excited to see them live while *not* sick. They did so much more than just not disappoint; they were phenomenal! Very long set, which included the entire Pressure & Time album (or very nearly - there were so many songs I lost track), plus so many greats from way back when to recent stuff like Feral Roots. If it’s your favorite RS song, odds are they played it and rocked the s**t out of it. All while dressed up for Halloween! Couldn’t. Be. Better. #happyplace #rockuallnight #rs=killershowalways

I’ve realized that most of the livestream shows I’ve been making sure to catch are many different people doing one song. Once I realized that, it’s fine. And this one had a flyer so you could see there would be many performers. I was more than happy to hear jays voice for a couple mins. Kept the rest of the show on mute until I saw him. I may donate still though. I’m donating to a lot of things lately so I dunno.

Very good as allways. All other concerts I've seen with these fabulous guys I would rate as 5, but this time "something" was missing. The close interaction between Scott and Jay were missing. The open happiness from the band were gone. In all it seemed like they were tired after a loooong consert tour. First in the US and then in Europe. They were still fantastic. Don't doubt about that. One little thing is that they skiped their signature number "Pressure and time" as opening number. Dissapointing😕 even though I figured that out before the concert. Of course they have to promote their Grammy nominee for this year. But they did not play it, and for mee it's their number one signature. Now the tour is soon at it's end and I wish for Michael, Dave, Robin, Jay and Scott tog have some relaxing time when they come home👍🙂🤩

Could only give four stars because it’s a shame for me that they plan at Delmar Hall. Extremely packed, impossible to watch/see, pretty uncomfortable venue for a show that big. Ticket prices were fair though! Thanks for that! Can’t wait to see them again, this was my fourth time. Would love to see them play a different venue. One with better views and more seating. ❤️

Great show. Wish they had not been gone on tour for so long. We have wanted to see them perform for a loooonnngggg time.....This was our fourth Rival Sons Concert. The venue was good besides the 6’6” guy that decided to take three steps away from his group and stand directly in front of me holding his cell phone in front of my face the entire time with no regard for anyone even after asking him to move a bit since he boxed me out and stood shoulder to shoulder with my wife instead of his wife or girlfriend ..... lol will be trying to get tickets to the next show in San Diego. Hope my tall buddy gets lost on the way .....

Amazing show. RS rocked the place. I would definitely see them again. Jay Buchanan is a vocal force that puts every ounce of soul into his performances. Scott Holidays guitar presence accents Buchanan perfectly. Throw in Miley’s masterful drum work and the result is an all out assault of sound and melody. It amazes me how RS has been around as long as they have and are not very well known. Maybe it’s a good thing because this band has made some of the best rock music of the past decade and like fine wine, are only getting better with age. For the sake of success, I would love to see RS get what they more than deserve. For the love of their music I worry with increased success could bring a commercial sound that is not at all what this band truly represents. As for the venue, The Orange Peel is a wonderfully intimate setting. It is very small but boasts some of the best acoustics I have ever heard. I was right up front and still the sound quality was amazing. Great lighting put the cherry on top of a fantastic overall experience. This was my first visit to this venue and I would highly recommend seeing a show there. I will be back the moment it hosts another act I am interested in seeing.

The Rival Sons put on a spectacular show every time I see them. Last night, at the Masquerade, was no exception! The intimacy of the venue accentuated the the more nuanced parts of their music. They covered a full dynamic range, from delicate and quiet to loud and powerful. Few bands today are able to display that level of virtuosity. I have been a concert goer since 1972. I have seen almost everyone. This was a top 5 concert for me. If you get an opportunity to see them live, take it!
